CHICAGO, IL (August 11, 2009) – The North Park University Women’s Rowing Program announced its fall 2009 race schedule this week.
North Park will co-host the 4th Annual North Shore Channel Challenge Sunday, October 4 at 9:00 a.m. on their home course in Skokie, Illinois. Teams from Augustana, Washington University (St. Louis), Michigan State, Northwestern University and Ohio University will be in attendance.
The following weekend, the Vikings travel to Moline, Illinois Saturday, October 10 for the Quad Cities Classic Regatta and Sunday October 11 the team will attend the Head of the Rock Regatta in Rockford, Illinois.
Also, Head Coach Tim Grant announced the team captains for the 2009-2010 rowing season. Kaitlin Jackson will return as Captain for her second straight year. She will be joined by Kara Bladel, now in her third year of rowing for the Vikings. Both women were named CRCA National Scholar Athletes for the 2008-2009 season, and were members of the varsity 8 person crew. Jackson, who sat in the stroke seat of both varsity boats last year, was named a MARC All-Conference Athlete for 2008-2009.
